The Maritime Centre Vellamo in Kotka is a museum complex that includes the Finnish Museum of Maritime History and the Museum of Kymenlaakso , which was completed and inaugurated in 2008. The museum building itself is designed like a wave and is a total of 15,000 m² and is located at the port of Kotka.
Inside the museum the visitors are greeted by an interior cladded by Gustafs Panel System installed on both the walls and in the ceilings. The fantastic wooden interior appear in various forms with special solutions that we have designed in our production in the factory.
Everything from classic plain wood panels and acoustic panels to wavy formed and curved panel installations in the ceiling. The idea of the interior is to reflect a maritime construction, boats, Finnish craftsmanship and the history of the place. All wood panels have been made with oak veneer.
