Linears

Gustafs Linear System is a complete range of fire-rated timber slats and acoustic panels for walls and ceilings in public buildings. GLS Combining fire-rated timber panels, acoustic wood panels, and sustainable wood slat panels. With a fire classification of A2-s1,d0, the system offers chemical-free fire resistance, excellent sound absorption, and design flexibility. Ideal for ceilings and walls, Gustafs provides reliable, labour-saving solutions for modern interior acoustic timber applications, including ribbed wood wall systems like Linear-Rib, Plank, and integrated acoustic modules.

Fire-Rated Timber Slat Panels for Walls and Ceilings. Where Safety Meets Design

Gustafs Linear is engineered for interiors where fire certification, acoustic performance, and architectural expression must all work together. Our timber slats and linear systems meet up to the highest European fire standards – including A2-s1,d0 – while preserving the warmth and natural character of real wood.

The system is widely specified in demanding public environments:

  • Schools and educational facilities – where speech clarity and sound absorption directly affect learning, and fire safety is non-negotiable.
  • Healthcare and hospital environments – where strict fire ratings, low emissions, and hygienic surfaces are required alongside a calming aesthetic.
  • Airports and transportation hubs – where large open spaces demand high acoustic absorption and materials certified for the most stringent fire classifications.
  • Offices, hotels, and public lobbies – where design quality and a premium finish are as important as technical performance.

Acoustic Timber Slats and Wall Panels – Designed for Calm and Clarity

Gustafs Linear gives architects and acousticians precise control over room reverberation. By adjusting slat spacing and dimensions, the open area of a standard installation can reach up to 24%, delivering sound absorption up to acoustic Class A,  without compromising the design intent.

For detailed performance data, see our room acoustics guide and individual product pages.

Non-Combustible Core, Natural Wood Surface – Fire Safety Without Compromise

Most Gustafs Linear products are built on a non-combustible gypsum core, faced with a thin layer of genuine wood veneer. This construction achieves fire classification A2-s1,d0 for the complete system – not just the surface – without the use of chemical fire retardants.

A2-s1,d0 is the highest fire classification achievable for a finish material under European EN 13501-1 standards, making Gustafs Linear panels suitable for escape routes, public atriums, and other areas where non-combustible materials are required by building regulations.

The system is tested and approved for public buildings across Europe and internationally. Architects can now specify real wood in projects that traditionally require mineral or metal surfaces – without sacrificing warmth, texture, or design freedom.
