Wooden acoustic panels in the Philharmonia

DESIGNED FOR MUSIC LOVERS

The project Philarmonica-2 by Architect Pavel Glushenkov, was a welcome addition for music and art lovers in Moscow. The opening was held on 23 december 2014 and was attended by many prominent guests and international artists. The acoustic design and calculations was created by Müller BBM from Munich, also responsible for the complete acoustics for the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg and the Bolshoy Theatre in Moscow.

BRILLIANT ACOUSTICS

World-wide known opera singers and musicians have called the acoustic properties brilliant! They said that the acoustics in the Philarmonica Theater are at a world-class level. The architect was given the tough task to create a concert hall where both the sound that comfort should be perfect. This was reached by cladding the entire hall with acoustic panels from Gustafs Scandinavia. Thanks to the hall’s unique acoustics, many international stars have chosen to keep their concerts here. Among others, Denis Matsuev, Dmitry Hvorostovsky, and Yuri Bashmet perform here.
