Project Description

Hakaniemi Metro Station

Our most recent project in Finland is the renovation of the metro station Hakaniemi in Helsinki. Hakaniemi station was actually the first underground metro station in the capital when it was opened in 1982. The renovation will make it to a more spacious and modern station.

And if you by any means recognize the surroundings it may be due to that this was the recording site for the music video to the 90s superhit “Freestyler” by Boomfunk MCs.

Gustafs has produced more than 1300m² ceiling panels in Gemini birch veneer to the metro station. Our Finnish partners, Inlook OY has installed all the panels.
