Library Project Receives RIBA Award

Café with gustafs ribs cladded

The new library at University of Bedfordshire has been awarded the RIBA East Award 2018.

We at Gustafs are delighted to have been part of this project, with our Linear products, that has received this prestigious Award. Gustafs and LSA Projects have supplied over 8000 linear metres of oak veneered ribs for both walls and ceilings in the library.

We love the way the architects have used the rib’s in the café and the entrance hall. Simply beautiful use of Gustafs products. The architects behind the new library are MCW Architects.

The judges commented:

“The building is certainly achieving the University’s aim to develop the estate in Luton and to invest in high quality facilities for its students. The library is a highly visible first step in the regeneration of Luton town centre.”

The RIBA Regional Awards are judged by the professional body for architects, RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects).
