Gustafs panels at Royal College of Music in Stockholm
On behalf of Akademiska hus, AIX architects are designing the new Royal College of Music in Stockholm. The result will be a top modern music school with high demands on acoustics.
Each concert hall is entended for different music genres, which requires different acoustic properties in every single hall.
We have worked closely with Annika Askerblom, Architect at AIX, and acoustician Jan-Inge Gustafsson at Norconsult. Based on architectural concepts of four public concert hall with different acoustic needs, beautiful and efficient solutions were worked out for each concert hall.
In the main concert hall, The red hall, there are faceted boxes in 10 different beautiful red shades and in the Chamber Music hall Gustafs panels are creating a wave pattern along the walls in blue and gold.
The occupation will take place in May 2016
