FSC® – Chain of custody process
FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) certified materials can only be sold by companies who are CoC (Chain of Custody) certified for the handling of FSC® materials. Gustafs is certified and below you will find a schematic explaining of how our CoC process works. Gustafs is audited once every year by a third party, a notified certification body.
FSC® CERTIFICATION
Gustafs can offer certified wood. Please ask for our FSC® certified offer. To sell FSC® certified wood a supplier must be Chain of Custody certified.
Gustafs FSC® certificate code is: SAI-COC-010919.
1. Enquiry and quotation
In the quotation phase we check the availability of the wood species you are asking for. The FSC® claim will be specified in the quotation. Of course we will do our best to keep additional FSC® costs within reasonable limits and lead times short.
2. Order confirmation
The FSC® claim will be clearly specified on the order confirmation.
3. Purchasing
When purchasing, we strictly and continuously control our suppliers and their FSC® certification. From receiving the goods marked with their FSC® claim, we enter the FSC® material into our Chain of Custody process.
4. Storage & production
During storage, production and internal logistics in our factory, the Chain of Custody may never been broken. In this stage the process will be really pressed as no failures will be accepted.
5. Delivery & invoice
All shipping and invoice documents will, and must, clearly state the FSC® claim of the supplied goods. If not, it can never been ”sold” as FSC® certified materials.
