Linear Rib-E

Rib-E builds on the same trusted performance as Rib-R, but with a fully rounded profile that brings a softer, more fluid expression to any interior. Crafted with real wood veneer and a dimensionally stable fibre-gypsum core, it delivers long-term reliability without warping or movement, even in demanding environments.
Like all solutions within the Gustafs Linear family, Rib-E is installed using the Capax Quick-Up system, ensuring a precise, efficient and secure assembly. You control the visual identity: choose veneer, surface finish, spacing colour, dimensions and centre-to-centre distances.

Design

Gustafs Rib-E delivers soft, rounded lines in real wood with long-term stability. Choose surface, combine with other mix- system products or ad an acoustic felt backing colour, to create unique patterns.

Installation

Our Capax MIX System offers precise installations regarding length joints and spacings in a multiple of dimensions. Spacings start at 22 mm for the 80×40 mm model and 9 mm for the 47×22 mm model and increase with intervals of 31 mm.

Gustafs Rib-E brings a refined softness to linear design. Its fully rounded profile creates fluid, uninterrupted lines across ceilings, while the combination of real wood veneer and a fibre-gypsum core ensures long-term dimensional stability. Installed with the Capax Quick-Up system, Rib-E offers precise alignment and a clean, secure finish. With variations in veneer, finish, spacing colour and dimensions, architects can shape a distinctive, durable expression that stands the test of time.

Rib-E creates a powerful, exclusive ceiling expression where rounded, flowing wooden forms define the space. The design is both architectural and tactile — adding depth, rhythm, and a strong sense of craftsmanship to interiors where aesthetics matter.

A wide selection of natural wood veneers allows each ceiling to be tailored to the character of the project, from warm and understated to bold and expressive. For applications where fire performance is not the primary requirement, Rib-E can also be manufactured in MDF or solid wood, offering greater freedom in material choice and detailing.

The result is a ceiling that feels substantial and refined — where form, material, and craftsmanship come together in a confident architectural statement.

With the Gustafs Rib-E system you access true flexibility. Designed for ceilings, Rib-E integrates seamlessly into the Capax Mix installation system — allowing you to combine linear ribs, panels, lighting and other elements in one consistent grid.

Whether you specify Rib-E across the entire ceiling plane or mix it with Feltfon, lights or angular ribs, the Capax Mix system supports clean transitions and unified geometry.

Rib-E 80 mm

Rib-E combined with coloured Acoustex® acoustic felt in the colour mocca. The profile creates visual depth and a flexible expression tailored to each architectural concept.

Rib-E in image is installed with a spacing of 84 mm, CC 124mm.

Gustafs Linear Rib-E will deliver the perfect solution for sound absorption and at the same time provide a good reflection and diffusion. Safety in our core

By covering a non-combustible fibre gypsum core with a thin layer of wood, we have created a natural and impregnation-free composition that does not noticeable contribute to fire. Thanks to this, our total Linear Rib System is 100 percent fire-rated, not just parts of the product, and will meet all countries’ fire safety requirements.

The fibre gypsum core of Gustafs Linear Ribs is regarded an inherently none-emitting source of VOCs, just like stone, ceramic, metals, glass and concrete. The ribs are also completely impregnation-free and that is why our panels are naturally very low emitting, guaranteeing a healthy room air quality.

The 5 natural benefits of our fibre gypsum core

Gustafs Linear Ribs are produced with a high-density, reinforced fibre gypsum core having inherent properties regarding dimension stability, emissions, sustainability, fire safety and acoustics. These 5 fundamental demands in today’s modern building industry effectively eliminate most traditional wood-based alternatives.

Stability

Unaffected by indoor climate changes, fibre gypsum doesn’t bulge, warp or swell. The zero spacing in-line joints between the ribs will remain zero over their full lifetime.

Fire Safety

Non-combustible and homogeneous by nature, fibre gypsum doesn’t need chemicals to achieve its fire rating. A Linear Rib with a wood veneer wrapping still consists of 97% fibre gypsum and has a fire classification of B-s1,d0.

Acoustics

Acoustically, the use of wall cladding with a higher density is usually favourable compared to lighter materials. Fibre gypsum-based ribs are heavier than wood-based wall cladding materials and sound waves will not make them vibrate or resonate.

Sustainability

Thanks to the cores high density and low thermal conductivity, the ribs help to maintain room temperature, reducing the need for cooling or heating. Fibre gypsum contains of 94% recycled material. Even better is the fact that 17% of the total content comes from post-consumer recycled material, very important for the certification of buildings.

Emissions

Fibre Gypsum cores are extremely low emitting. One of the reasons is that they are produced without wood binders and automatically without added urea-formaldehyde or isocyanates. Interior Panels and Ribs, containing 97% Fibre Gypsum, will per definition have very low TVOC and formaldehyde emissions.

F-Line  – Linear lightning för Gustafs Linear System

Integral linear lightning solution for Gustafs Linear Ceiling System. The lamp housing uses the same fixture clips as the ribs and has due to that a free positioning and is demountable. D-Line uses a modern micro prismatic dimming in combination with high-quality LED light sources.

Acoustex 9,0 – Sturdy acoustic felt for multiple use

Extremely form stable acoustic backing in the colours Wool Grey, Dark Grey or Anthracite with fire class B-s1,d0. Can be used as an individual sound absorber or integral as the acoustic insulation layer behind Gustafs demountable Linear Ceiling-CD system. Supplied in sheets in various formats. Contains minimum 50% recycled PET bottles and is approved by all international standards regarding in-door climate emissions. Thickness 9,0 mm.

Capax is our unique aluminum profile installation system that provides you a concealed, reliable, quick and cost saving installation. The MIX assembly system is a user friendly aluminum grid offering installation reliability and a perfect visual result. No tools are needed to assemble the interlocking components. A demountable version is available, ideal when access to the ancillary systems is required.
