This is an all-natural product combining high-quality timber veneer and a non-combustible, high-density fibre gypsum core and a 9 mm acoustic felt backing made from recycled plastic bottles. Materials that contribute to better interiors.

Depending on the colour of the acoustic felt backing, the overall impression of the veneer and the finished surface will vary. As a result, there are many possible designs and colour combinations. Core options

The choice between anthracite or light grey core for the reinforced fibre gypsum core of Figura+ Panels can have a significant impact on the overall appearance of the panels. When deciding between anthracite or light grey core, it’s essential to consider the desired atmosphere, the surrounding colour scheme, and the overall design objectives of your space.

Acoustic Felt

In addition to the core options, the choice of felt backing for Figura+ Panels further contributes to the overall design. Figura+ Panels offer Acoustex felt, which is made from recycled PET materials. The colour of the acoustic felt backing plays a significant role in the visual impact of the panels and the finished surface. It influences the perception of the veneer and adds texture to the design.

Acoustex Felt – Green Acoustics made from rPET

The Acoustic felt, Acoustex, is crafted from a minimum of 50% recycled PET bottles, which are chipped into flakes and combined with fresh PET material. This innovative process ensures optimal reprocessing of PET, making it an environmental friendly choice.

The fibre gypsum core of Gustafs Figura+ panels and the Acoustex felt backing are regarded inherently non-emitting sources of VOC’s. These naturally very low emitting qualities plus the impregnation-free fire safety of the Figura+ panel, guarantee a healthy room air quality.

A zero footprint is our target

It’s in our Swedish DNA to do everything we can to reduce the environmental impact of our business. We have come a long way and we are proud that our production is certified using 100% renewable energy. The felt backing of Figura+ contains a minimum of 50% post-consumer recycled material and the top panel is made of 94% recycled material, including 17% post-consumer recycled material.

The whole panel is free from retardants, added formaldehyde or isocyanate binders. FSC® certified wood is available, and Gustafs Certificate Code is SAI-COC-010919.

KNOWLEDGE HUB / SUSTAINABILITY

Installed directly on an existing wall or ceiling.

The Figura+ Acoustic panels are really simple and quick to mount, directly on any existing wall or ceiling. Depending on the total construction of the installation, sound absorption class A, B, C or D will be reached, but all constructions will achieve fire safety class B-s1,d0.

Installation for sound absorption class A

To reach the highest acoustic absorption class for your chosen pattern on walls, add 45 mm mineral wool insulation behind the panels and for suspended ceilings use Gustafs T24 Capax system to create a 200 mm air void, no additional insulation needed.

Acoustic class D

If you install the panels directly on the wall or ceiling the acoustic absorption class will be D.

Fixtures

Depending on the sub-construction, screw or nail directly in the felt. Use screws and nails in colours matching the felt.

INSTRUCTIONS

X= suggested fixing point

Cut the acoustic panels to fit your wall or ceiling. Cut the top panel with a sharp saw and the acoustic felt with a carpenter knife.

1. Plan your installation and decide whether the pattern of the panels should be continuous or whether you should rotate every other panel 180 degrees.

2. To achieve the highest absorption class for your chosen pattern, first regrade the wall with 45 mm battens, 600 mm cc, and place 45 mm thick mineral wool behind the panels.

3. If necessary, adjust the length of the panels to the correct size. Use a sharp saw for the top panel and a knife for the felt.

4. Install with at least 15 fixing points per panel. Choose the mounting method (screwed, glued or stapled) depending on the wall material and location.
Glue is recommended for wall mounting only. In this case, use an MS polymer adhesive and fix the panel during curing.

5. If you are installing in combination with Lamellow+, add a felt strip to the Lamellow+ panel and install with the felt edge against the Figura+ panel to create a consistent spacing.

Gustafs has comprehensive, accredited test data for a wide variety of criteria such as fire, acoustics, emissions and many others. We tick all the boxes to comply your project with todays modern building standards. However, the following documents are not available for direct downloading.
