Hägerneholms School’s focus on acoustics and materials are two essential subjects that have been central in the construction of the new school. The reason is the open spaces and lack of corridors. That has made the acoustics in the building into an important aspect from a environmental perspective.
Gustafs have produced and installed timber panels in the main entrance, welcoming the students to the school. The timber panels are installed on the walls and are also cladding the cubic meeting rooms that have been creatively installed in the atrium. All timber panels are made in oak veneer.
The school that accommodate 600 students and 110 preschoolers is certified according to the Swedish standard Environmental Building Gold, which means that high demands are placed on energy consumption, indoor environment, air, acoustics and materials.
